Orestilla 2016 arrives at Vinitaly and the expectations of insiders and enthusiasts are high. The monocru Lugana of Montonale, a small eco-sustainable producer in Desenzano, won the platinum medal at the Decanter World Wine Awards 2017 with the 2015 harvest, triggering a bottle hunt made difficult by the rarity of wine, only 4 thousand pieces, half of which destined at the foreign market.
Roberto Girelli, oenologist and patron of Montonale, is optimistic about the potential of the new vintage: "In 2016 the season has been more balanced than the previous year and the wines reflect it in full: fragrant, fine, elegant. The origin of wine: Orestilla comes from a vineyard with unique characteristics, so its fruit is not reproducible and it is not even conceivable to increase production, despite the pressing demands of the horeca ".
Orestilla will be available for tastings at Montonale stand (Lombardy palaexpo, Lugana area, C11) paired with smoked Garda rice maki, created by chef Davide Piva from the Le Muse restaurant in San Bonifacio. Also the other wines of the Girelli family will be at disposal: the Lugana Montunal, the Chiaretto Rosa di Notte, the reds La Conta and La Venga, the Spumante Luce d'Alba.
